POSITION: Substitute Translator/InterpreterLOCATION: District wide SALARY: $21.48 per hourAVAILABLE: ImmediatelyMinimum Qualifications:Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in interpreting/translating, both orally and in writing, between English and at least one other language. Must be approved by Suffolk County Department of Civil Service prior to employment. NOTE: Completion of an interpreter/translator program may be substituted for the above experience.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Employees must possess a valid NYS driver’s license.Candidates must demonstrate language proficiency at a level deemed appropriate by the employing agency.
