POSITION: Leave Replacement School Bus Driver Coordinator (Anticipated 3mos)LOCATION: Transportation OfficeHOURS: 6:00am – 2:00pmSALARY: $55,455 - $58,455 (pro-rated) AVAILABLE: ImmediatelyDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with driver assistants and drivers to resolve student behavioral issuesWork with Principals to resolve all transportation issuesComplete daily data entry of field tripsOperate remote fuel dispenser and track fuel usage for district vehiclesPrepare bus-run schedules for the transportation of studentsAssign drivers and vehicles to bus routes and approved sports and music trips and academic field tripsOperate school bus on a route or trip occasionallyMonitor bus stops to observe student behavior and safetyMeasure maximum walking distance to each school from all areas surrounding school and develop map templates from these measurementsGeneral knowledge of DMV, DOT, and SED rules and regulationsCandidate must be able to route buses and assign and reassign a volume of tripsWilling and able to respond to bus accidentsRecord drivers’ daily paperworkPerforms other duties, as needed, in the school transportation department under the supervision of the Assistant School Transportation Supervisor or the School Transportation SupervisorContinuously monitor drivers while they are on their routes via two-way radio to resolve issues as necessaryEnsure drivers turn in D.O.T. paperwork and filing the same paperwork on a daily basisMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience in driving or scheduling buses for a transportation system. A Clean Class B license with a passenger Endorsement and an “S” Endorsement is also required).
