Position : AIS Teacher, English, Middle School (Full-Time, Probationary, Tenure-Track) Available : August 31, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year Salary : Commensurate with experience and level of education. (Note: For reference, 2026-2027 starting salaries are $63,524 for BA/Step 1 and $72,146 for MA/Step 1) Qualifications: Valid NYS English Teacher 7-12 certification (required) Preferred experience in English instruction in a school setting. Deep understanding of effective reading intervention strategies, the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), and best practices in English instruction. Ability to interpret assessment data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities: Provide small-group and one-on-one reading interventions to students identified as needing academic support. Apply data-driven instructional strategies to address gaps in reading fluency, comprehension, and phonemic awareness. Assess and monitor student progress using both formal and informal measures, adjusting instruction as necessary. Collaborate with general education, special education, and intervention teams to ensure alignment with core instruction. Implement research-based interventions to enhance development Use a variety of instructional materials, programs, and technology to support and engage learners. Maintain open communication with parents and guardians to promote development at home. Keep detailed records of student progress and participate in team meetings focused on data review and instructional planning. Work as a member of the Middle School English Team.
