We are seeking an experienced Elementary Literacy Coach/Staff Developer to join our high-performing school district. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of and experience with Reading and Writing Workshop instructional practices. Demonstrated success in providing job-embedded professional learning through an instructional coaching model is strongly preferred. Candidates should possess the following qualifications: Successful classroom teaching experience. Strong background in the design and implementation of performance-based assessments. Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction and best practices. Experience designing and delivering high-quality professional learning for teachers and administrators. Demonstrates ability to analyze assessment data to inform both short- and long-term instructional planning. Experience using formal and informal assessments to: Plan and deliver small-group and whole-class instruction. Design and implement appropriate student interventions. Experience creating inclusive classroom environments that support the diverse needs of all learners, including students with designated special education supports. Create and implement daily social and emotional practices to support classroom environments and instruction. Experience coaching and supporting teachers through instructional improvement and change initiatives. Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administrators. Certification: NYS Teacher certification; Special Education Certification preferred Reports to : Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment by July 20th, 2026. Terms: 10 months, salary and benefits based on the Rye Teachers Association collective bargaining agreement. Additional summer responsibilities paid at daily rate. Start date: 09/01/2026
