See: The Rye CommitmentThe Rye City School District is looking for a dynamic, innovative individual to help lead the district’s professional learning in grades 6-12.Position Title:Secondary Instructional CoachEssential Attributes:- Experience designing student-centered lessons and engaging curricula that individually challenges students and inspires them to grow.- Advocate and support inquiry, project and problem-based learning.- Provide guidance and coaching to teachers on educational and instructional methodology related to inquiry and the implementation of problem/project-based curriculum and performance-based assessments.- Facilitate the development, implementation, data analysis, and communication of benchmarks to ensure that students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.- Demonstrate the skills and attitude of a master teacher and actively engage others in professional growth opportunities.- Coordinate and facilitate professional learning for Rye Middle School and Rye High School, in collaboration with the district’s professional learning team.- Collaborate with faculty to showcase to various stakeholders students’ projects and progress.- Collaborate with community organizations to provide or expand co-curricular programming which supports student success.- Assist in writing grants to support programming.- Knowledgeable about providing feedback and experience with curriculum mapping.- Experience with an integrated co-teaching model.- Knowledge of and strength in middle level education.- Knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards in all content areas.- Ability to collaborate with district coordinators, administrators and teachers, and other staff developers.- Familiarity with middle level Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop.- Knowledge of adolescent and adult learning.- Experience with embedded instructional coaching models.Certification:7-12 PreferredThis position includes a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and extensive opportunities for professional learning, continued growth, and mentored support.The Rye City School District is an equal opportunity employer.
