See: The Rye Commitment This position is for a second Athletic Trainer. You will work with the current ATC, Dir. of Health Services, Dir. of Athletics, and the school nurses in the management of the athletic training room operations. Provide athletic training services for practices and games including prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This position will provide immediate treatment or first aid for injured athletes during athletic events or practices. Work closely with school personnel, coaches, doctors and parents. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Assist in the administration, organization, and planning of schedules to provide coverage at athletic events.Follow specific guidelines for the care and prevention of athletic injuries including treatment and rehabilitation.Enforce policies and procedures of the Rye City School DistrictWork closely with the Director of Health Services, Athletic Director, and school nursing staff concerning restrictions of injured athletes.Work cooperatively with the Director of Health Services/ Athletic Director and ATC.Follow programs designed to prevent athletic injuries, assess injuries, and determine the level of participation after rehabilitation.Compile and maintain statistical records of team injuries and incident reports.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Excellent interpersonal skills.Ability to keep accurate records.Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.Knowledge of Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Windows, and E-mail.Ability to work evenings and Saturdays is required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to assist injured athletes off the athletic field.Must be able to carry equipment pack.Must be able to assist athletes onto treatment tables.Must be able to use defibrillators.EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field or athletic training is required.NATA certification is required.Master's Degree in athletic training is preferred.Two years' experience in a school setting is preferred.Current CPR/AED certification.Current ATC license or eligible for license in NY State.
