The ideal candidate will inspire students through dynamic instruction, real-world applications, and a passion for technology and problem-solving.Key Responsibilities Include:Develop and deliver a rigorous, relevant, and up-to-date computer science curriculum that prepares students for college, careers, and lifelong learningTeach AP Computer Science A (Java) and AP Computer Science Principles, ensuring students are well-prepared for AP examsDesign engaging, real-life learning experiences that integrate technology and support a comprehensive understanding of its applicationCreate differentiated lessons and programs that meet the diverse learning needs of all studentsCollaborate with grade-level and content-area teams to support student growthWork closely with classroom teachers and support staff to create interdisciplinary connections and provide students with meaningful exploration of future career and academic opportunitiesQualifications:Valid New York State Certification in Computer Science and/or Technology Education RequiredStrong knowledge of Java (for AP CSA), with experience in Python and other relevant programming languages.Understanding of cybersecurity principles and how to integrate them into classroom instruction.Familiarity with:New York State K-12 Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning StandardsNew York State Technology Education Learning StandardsNext Generation Learning StandardsNational Education Technology PlanExperience designing and delivering engaging, student-centered, and differentiated technology lessons (preferred).Demonstrated passion for teaching high school students, with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and preparing students for the digital world.SALARY: Commensurate with Experience and the Roosevelt Teachers Association (RTA) Contractonly applicants who DEMONSTRATE APPROPRIATE Nysed CertIFICATION will be considered apply for this POSITION by completing a cover letter,resume and applicationThe Roosevelt UFSD is an equal opportunity employer.
