OVERNIGHT SHIFTTwelve-Month PositionTentative Hours: 9:00 pm – 5:00 am or 10:00 pm – 6:00 amNights: Monday – Friday Night or Tuesday – Saturday NightNon-Competitive PositionMust Meet Nassau County Civil Service QualificationsBilingual Candidates Encouraged to ApplyNew York State Driver’s License Required Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible for providing overnight security including patrol and building checks for all five district buildings; periodically tours buildings, grounds, or other designated areas to ensure that doors, windows and gates are properly secured; reports any unusual conditions or breakdowns in buildings; reports attempted thefts, entries, vandalism or fires; attending to parking areas and visitor management; answering night telephone calls, as required; questions unauthorized personnel, and checks vehicles entering grounds; ensures safety of persons using the premises, as required. Qualifications: Professional and committed; knowledge of the principles and practices of building and grounds safety and security precautions; ability to respond effectively to emergency situations; ability to patrol buildings and grounds; ability to follow oral and written directions. requirement of background check and continued possession of New York State registration as a Security Guard issued by New York State. Salary: Terms of Employment Per UPSEU/Roosevelt Security Agreement Plus 10% Night Differential
