The Ridgefield Public Schools are seeking an experienced, collaborative instructional leader to serve as Principal of Veterans Park Elementary School effective July 1, 2022. The successful candidate will possess:strong collaborative leadership skills to lead teachers, parents and community members in improving student learning outcomes;ability to create shared vision of success for all learners;demonstrated leadership experience focused in capacity building, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement;commitment to excellence in instructional leadership with content knowledge of best practices in literacy, numeracy, digital fluency, and intervention strategies;high expectations for all students and staff to prepare students for success in global society. Qualifications:Eligibility for Connecticut certification as an Intermediate Administrator. Endorsement 092.A record of superior performance as a teacher and evidence of successful leadership in elementary school.A strong academic record, both undergraduate and graduate.Substantial knowledge of elementary curriculum and instruction, intellectual curiosity, an extensive background in reading and writing, strength in staff development, a respect for children and a love of learning.Experience in assessing student performance, in using data to improve teaching and learning and in using technology as a tool for school management and learning.Ability to take a leadership role in some area of elementary curriculum.Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, administrators and the community. Twelve-month work year. Annual rate, based on academic preparation and experience, from $161,169 to $185,212. Added $2,000 for a doctorate.
