RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Treasurer. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker with strong communication skills and is comfortable working independently. Qualifications: Associate's Degree in accounting or related field is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of progression in treasury operations, accounting, and financial reporting. Robust knowledge of various treasury reporting including cash flow models, ratio reporting, cashflow projections, etc. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong software knowledge using worksheets (EXCEL) is required. Salary: Regionally Competitive General Responsibilities: The work involves responsibility for keeping record of the finances of the school district. Performs accounting for all funds utilizing NYS municipal accounting systemMaintain general ledger, cash receipts and cash disbursements for all fundsCompletes a monthly trial balance and treasurer’s report for board meetingsMonitors the District’s cash flowAssist internal auditor with annual risk assessment reviewAssist external auditor with annual reviewAssists in the preparation of the corrective action plan for all auditsMaintains records related to NYS and Federal grantsMaintains integrity of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll accountingPrepares annual financial report (ST3) and assists School Business Official with annual State Aid Claim documentAssists in the preparation of the NYS Financial Transparency Report and Federal ESSA ReportAssists in year-end closingMaintains fixed asset inventoryAssists in monthly BOCES bill record keepingElectronic signature is on all checks drawn on District fund accounts Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________The mission of RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is to create an inclusive, welcoming educational community where all students can find their purpose and achieve their goals.
