RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a NYS Certified Teacher of the Deaf Qualifications: New York State Certification, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Salary: Per ContractGeneral Responsibilities: Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearingDesigns and carries out lesson plans in order to achieve the goals stated in each students’ Individualized Education Plan and incorporating NYS StandardsStrong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teachers is necessary.Employs instructional methods and materials most appropriate to the age and cognitive level of the students enhanced with data-driven instruction.Provides direction to classroom teacher assistant ensuring effective utilization of the classroom team.Works and communicates effectively with familiesRecords, reports, and interprets the behavior and progress of students, making necessary program modifications throughout the school.Participates in various teacher-related meetings and in-service sessionsCommunicates effectively with related staff personnel to ensure collaboration amongst allCommunicates effectively and proactively with Administration.Writes quarterly and annual reports, IEP goals for the upcoming school year and participates in CSE meetingsAdditional Duties:Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.
