RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT announces a TWO YEAR LEAVE REPLACEMENT VACANCY FOR A SCHOOL COUNSELOR (College & Career Counselor) AT THE RONDOUT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL. The College & Career Counselor will coordinate a high school college and career readiness program that ensures that all Rondout Valley CSD students experience a successful transition from high school to college and/or career. The College and Career Counselor will work collaboratively with school staff, families and college/community partners to deliver a comprehensive program addressing student needs in building awareness, planning & preparation, application, and transition to post-secondary. The College/Career Counselor will employ a variety of strategies and venues to reach students and families, including individual meetings, classroom presentations, and special events and workshops. The position requires experience with the college admission process, a strong understanding of students’ and family needs in preparing for college and other post-secondary options, and the ability to manage key relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholdersQualifications: NYS Certification, School Counselor & SED Fingerprint Clearance Salary: Per ContractWork Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:25am - 2:35pmAdditional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the direct report and/or Superintendent.
