The Rome City School District is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and student-centered Social Studies educator to teach Global History. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver rigorous, engaging lessons aligned to the New York State Social Studies Framework. Incorporate diverse perspectives and culturally responsive teaching practices. Use primary and secondary sources to promote inquiry-based learning and historical analysis. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with disabilities and English language learners. Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative methods and adjust instruction accordingly. Integrate reading, writing, and discussion strategies to support disciplinary literacy. Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and critical thinking. Collaborate with colleagues, including co-teachers, to support student success. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Qualifications: Must hold a valid New York State Social Studies Certification (7-12). Strong classroom management and communication skills.
