The Rome City School District is seeking qualified and dedicated candidates to serve as Home Tutors for students requiring instruction outside of the traditional classroom setting due to temporary or chronic illness or injury. Position Summary: Home Tutors provide individualized academic instruction to students in their homes or other approved locations. Instruction is aligned with district curriculum and designed to support continuity of learning during periods when students are unable to attend school. Responsibilities: Deliver one-on-one instruction in accordance with district curriculum and student needs Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to ensure instructional continuity Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and instructional time Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions Location: Varies based on student placement (in-home or other approved settings within the district) Minimum Qualifications: Valid New York State Teaching Certification (any certification area considered; high need in Special Education) Fingerprint clearance through the New York State Education Department Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and adapt to varying instructional environments Please upload your cover letter, teaching certification (or copy of TEACH page), and 3 professional references.
