Elementary Math AIS TeacherThe Rome City School District is seeking a passionate, student-centered, and equity-driven Elementary Math AIS (Academic Intervention Services) Teacher to support students who require targeted mathematics intervention to meet grade-level standards. We are dedicated to creating a collaborative and nurturing environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct, small-group and/or individual mathematics intervention aligned with the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards for Mathematics and district AIS guidelines.Develop and implement standards-based intervention lessons targeting foundational numeracy, number sense, computation, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning.Analyze and interpret multiple data sources (e.g., benchmark assessments, diagnostic tools, state assessments) to identify students for AIS services and to inform instructional planning.Design and implement individualized intervention plans with measurable growth targets.Monitor students progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies based on performance data.Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure alignment between Tier 1 instruction and AIS intervention (Tier 2/Tier 3 support).Maintain accurate documentation of student services and progress in compliance with NYS AIS requirements.Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies to support math development at home.Support students’ academic confidence and perseverance in mathematics.Participate in CSE/504 meetings when appropriate to provide input regarding academic intervention services.Qualifications:Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6).Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics content and instructional best practices.Experience using assessment data to drive instruction and monitor student growth.How to Apply:Please submit your resume, cover letter outlining your experience and teaching philosophy, 3 letters of recommendations, official college transcripts, and a copy of your New York State certification/TEACH certification page.
