The Rome City School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Cook Manager for the district’s Summer Food Service Program at Strough Middle School. This seasonal role will run from June 30, 2025, through August 22, 2025, with scheduled hours from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Cook Manager will oversee daily kitchen operations, including the preparation of meals, supervision of food service staff, inventory control, and ensuring adherence to all food safety and sanitation regulations.Minimum qualifications include two (2) years of experience in the preparation of food on a large scale, OR possession of an Associate’s degree in applied science issued after completion of a two-year course from a technical institute with specialization in foods, nutrition, and institution management, OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.Ideal candidates should demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills, have a solid understanding of nutritional guidelines, and be committed to maintaining a clean, efficient, and supportive food service environment. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to support student wellness and lead a dedicated team throughout the summer.
