Resource TeacherThe Rome City School District is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Special Education Resource Teacher to support and empower diverse learners in an inclusive and engaging educational environment. The Resource Teacher provides specialized instructional support to students with diverse learning needs in grades 7–8, ensuring meaningful access to the general education curriculum. This role involves collaborating closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), accommodations, and targeted instructional strategies that reflect each student’s unique strengths and needs. We are dedicated to creating a collaborative and nurturing environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.Key Responsibilities:Instructional SupportDeliver specialized instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet individual learning goals.Integrate assistive technology and alternative strategies to enhance student engagement and learning.IEP DevelopmentParticipate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and review IEPs.Ensure IEP goals and objectives are implemented and monitored effectively.Track student progress and provide data-driven reports to stakeholders.Collaboration and ConsultationWork closely with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and co-teaching models.Provide strategies and resources to classroom teachers for differentiated instruction.Collaborate with parents/guardians and outside professionals to support student success.Assessment and Progress MonitoringConduct formal and informal assessments to identify student strengths and needs.Maintain accurate and confidential records of student performance and interventions.Use assessment data to adjust instruction and recommend interventions.Behavioral and Social-Emotional SupportSupport the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs).Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes self-regulation and independence.Professional Development and ComplianceStay current on best practices in special education, instructional methods, and legal requirements.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations.Participate in school-wide initiatives, training, and professional learning communities.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.Must hold a valid New York State Students with Disabilities Certification.Experience working with students with a range of disabilities.Strong classroom management and communication skills.Passion for inspiring students to explore and develop business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.Ability to collaborate with a team and engage with families.Why Join Us?A supportive and collaborative teaching environment.Opportunities for professional development and growth.Access to well-equipped classrooms and technology resources.Competitive salary and benefits package.How to Apply:If you're ready to inspire the next generation of business leaders, apply today!
