The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for two anticipated Dean of Students positions at the high school level. These are full-time 12-month probationary positions and include a regionally competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS administrative certification (SAS, SDA, or SBL) is required. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in Spanish are encouraged to apply.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least 5 years of successful teaching experience at the secondary levelDetailed knowledge of DASA and its impact on student discipline, along with the ability to exercise fairness and equity when determining behavioral consequencesPrior experience utilizing Infinite Campus and/or other student management systemsAbility to engage and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community members, and other stakeholders in support of carrying out the school’s missionStrong management, organizational, and problem solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Work closely with Assistant Principals to ensure consistent enforcement of school rules and regulationsParticipate in the investigation and resolution of behavioral incidents, implementing disciplinary consequences in accordance with the District Code of ConductMonitor and organize attendance functions, including preparing letters, contacting parents, and attending meetings related to absenteeism and tardinessServe as a liaison to the after-school program, facilitating communication and collaboration between school staff and external agencies.Work with with security personnel to maintain a safe and secure school environmentCollaborate with stakeholders including parents, faculty, and community members to address concerns and improve the overall educational experience for studentsAssist in the coordination of student activities, events, and programs aimed at promoting positive student engagement and development
