The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for Occupational Therapists for our Extended School Year (ESY) services from July 17, 2025 - August 15, 2025. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting the functional skills and independence of children and adolescents with diverse needsKey Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing abilities, visual-motor coordination, and activities of daily livingDevelop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives to address students' occupational therapy needsProvide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs, using evidence-based interventions and strategies to improve functional skills and independenceCollaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, and other members of the educational team to integrate occupational therapy goals into the overall educational programMonitor students' progress regularly and adjust therapy interventions as needed to ensure continued progress towards goalsMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork in compliance with district policies and state regulationsParticipate in team meetings, including IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings, to discuss student progress, goals, and strategiesAdhere to professional and ethical standards as outlined by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and relevant state licensing boardQualifications:Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of New YorkCertification in School-Based Occupational Therapy preferredExperience working with children and adolescents with diverse needs, including developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and physical disabilitiesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
