The North Rockland Central School District is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Special Programs and Grants. This is a full-time 12-month administrative position which includes a highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS administrative certification (SDA, SDL, SAS or SBL) is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Successful professional experience in special education or a related field and/or prior administrative experience in an educational settingAt least 3 years of full-time experience working in the mental health field in a supervisory capacity, preferably in an educational settingAdditional experience working in a clinical setting with diverse populationsAbility to work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages and economic backgrounds in a culturally competent and sensitive mannerKnowledge of NYSED special education services and programs, educational requirements and achievement metrics and performance measures, as well as facility interpreting data and using data for quality improvement purposes.High level of organization and multitasking skillsUnderstanding of program management, including program planning, operations and evaluation, and management systemsDemonstrated skill with regards to administrative and performance aspects of programs and ability to adjust and respond to changesStrong leadership skills, including the ability to measure and achieve programmatic goals Ability to articulate a compelling vision of the new district programsPROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership and oversight of the District’s focused intensive day treatment program and the Family Counseling Center, including the coordination of services Serve as a core member of the Mental Health Planning Team with direct involvement in developing and implementing grant based programs according to the approved timelineServe on the Advisory Committee with District stakeholders and community partnerships and county agenciesCommunicate effectively with staff, senior leadership, parents, agencies, facilities, districts, and the NYS Education DepartmentCollect and analyze student and District-level data within the programsDevelop and organize a system of care for students who require family counseling servicesSupervise, evaluate, and lead a team of certified and classified staff to support effective implementation of specialized grant programs Oversee reporting and compliance, including preparation and submission of all reports and data for the federal, state, and district monitoring of grant funded programsParticipate in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified staffAnalyze budgets, revenues, expenditures, adjustments, and grants in collaboration with the Business Office and Office of Special Services Coordinate relevant professional development and training for staff membersConsult with District administrators to develop, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of new programs
