The North Rockland (Haverstraw-Stony Point) Central School District is seeking candidates for a probationary CPSE Chairperson position for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a full-time 11-month position which includes a highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS Certification (Special Education, Students with Disabilities, Speech and Language Disabilities, or School Psychologist) is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least three to five years of successful work experience in a school district setting, preferably as a CPSE/CSE ChairpersonThorough understanding of CPSE/CSE guidelines and regulations as related to Special Education servicesExtensive knowledge of psychological and educational testing and evaluations; Ability to problem solve and work effectively with families and various agenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written and digital)Bilingual (fluent in Spanish)DUTIES:Implement and maintain procedures relevant to the CPSE/CSE process; Ensure that all students referred to the CPSE/CSE receive the necessary evaluations; Work cooperatively with parents, preschools, agencies and the District to coordinate programs and services as a result of CPSE/CSE and Early Intervention meetings; Chair CPSE/CSE meetings and completes IEPs; Works cooperatively with the school staff to place students in appropriate educational programs; Stay apprised of all NYS laws and regulations pertaining to special education services for school age students.
