POSITION: Automotive Mechanic REQUIREMENTS: Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices, and equipment used in automotive repair and maintenance. Knowledge of principles of operation and maintenance of gasoline and diesel internal combustion engines. Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment employed in repairing and adjusting automotive equipment. Ability to locate, diagnose, and repair defects and malfunctions in automotive equipment. Ability to make minor welds and to use acetylene cutting tools. Ability to maintain simple records and to follow oral and written instructions. Graduation from high school AND f our years of satisfactory experience in the skilled repair and maintenance of automobiles, trucks, or other automotive equipment; or Completion of eighth grade education AND s ix years of experience as outlined above. Possession of valid NYS CDL Must be 21 years of age and in excellent physical condition with excellent attendance Class B required Civil Service approval LOCATION: Transportation HOURS: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm DATE: July 1, 2026 SALARY: P er R CBDMA contract, $60,465.00 - $65,549.00
