2026-27 Probationary Middle School Counselor Dates: 2026-27 School Year Requirements: NYS Certification in School Counseling required. Provide individual and small-group counseling to support the social-emotional and academic needs of all students. Possess a strong understanding of early adolescent development. Deliver developmentally appropriate classroom lessons aligned with SEL benchmarks and district goals. Monitor student progress and collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to implement targeted interventions. Possess the ability to build trusting relationships with students and families. Support middle-to-high school transition planning and foundational college and career awareness. Participate in multidisciplinary teams (CST, 504, CSE). Be organized, reflective and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. Commit to culturally responsive practices, equity, and student advocacy. Possess some knowledge of Power School and Naviance ( Preferred ).
