Roslyn High School Assistant PrincipalsRoslyn High School is a high-performing, well-resourced public school serving approximately 1,100 students. We are seeking exceptional, detail-oriented assistant principals to join our leadership team.These individuals will work closely with the principal to lead, manage, and support all aspects of school operations.Requirements/QualificationsMaster’s degree from an accredited college or universityValid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or equivalent administrative certification required.A minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching and/or counseling experience, preferably at the secondary level.Prior school leadership or administrative experience preferred.Ability to work extended hours before and after school.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experience building master schedule preferred.Knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.Responsibilities/FunctionsServe as the primary contact for one or two grade levels, following the assigned cohort(s) over multiple years.Collaborate with class advisors and student leaders through Student Government.Monitor and support student attendance and behavior.Manage student behavior and disciplinary procedures in a fair, consistent, and supportive manner.Support classroom instruction and drive instructional improvement through coaching, observation, and feedback.Collaborate closely with the administrative team to develop and implement schoolwide initiatives and shared goals.Contribute to a positive school culture for staff and students.Communicate effectively with parents with an ability to conduct difficult conversations with candor, judgement, and empathy.Maintain a visible and regular presence at co-curricular, extracurricular, and athletic events outside the regular school day.Candidate ProfilePersonal Attributes:A desire to support students and staff to achieve their highest potential through positive role modeling and mentorship.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, listen actively, and communicate effectively in person and in writing with students, staff, and families.A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a high-functioning leadership team.An innate ability to anticipate problems and initiate proactive action to prevent or address them.Professional Skills:Familiarity with school systems such as PowerSchool, Canvas, Parent Square, Google Apps for Education; experience with master scheduling is strongly preferred.Success in supporting teacher development, managing student discipline, and leading operational systems in a secondary school setting.Start DateOn or about August 18, 2025SalaryPer RASA Contract ($164,000 - $184,000), commensurate with experience.
