Roslyn High School Principal, ProbationaryRoslyn Public Schools is seeking a Roslyn High School Principal responsible for overseeing all aspects of the high school’s academic and extracurricular programs, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. This role includes organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating a comprehensive and innovative educational program that prepares students for success in college, careers, and beyond.Anticipated Start Date On or about December 1, 2025 Requirements Master's degree from an accredited college or university.Valid New York State certification as a School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL).Minimum 5 years teaching experience.Minimum of three years of certified educational leadership experience.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community.Proficiency in problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.Strong understanding of collaborative management methods and their application in educational settings.Ability to address personnel matters fairly and equitably.Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.Knowledge and experience using PowerSchool Student Management System preferred.Dedicated to fostering an optimal learning environment that upholds high school standards of instructional excellence and academic rigor. Responsibilities/Functions Provide visionary leadership to develop and implement educational programs that meet the diverse needs of students.Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.Ensure that all school programs and activities align with district guidelines and educational standards.Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and the broader community.Collaborate with community organizations to enhance educational opportunities for students.Adapt to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.Interact with students to encourage each individual to perform at their highest level.Manage all building staff personnel.Collaborate with the Superintendent to assign specific duties to assistant principals and other administrative staff.Resolve staff issues and provide support to teachers.Provide general supervision to students and oversee extracurricular activities.Maintain positive relations with parents, parent groups, school volunteers, and external agencies.Maintain regular contact with parents regarding the needs, achievements, and behavior of their children.Conduct regular classroom and building observations of students and teachers.Develop a comprehensive curriculum and program of services in cooperation with teachers and central office staff.Develop an atmosphere of respect, interest, and enthusiasm within the school.Communicate openly and effectively with students, community, staff, and administration.Supervise and provide for the general welfare of students during the school day, on school trips, and during school activities.Maintain effective programs to strengthen and monitor student discipline, attendance, and individual progress in accordance with district policy.Provide a positive environment for students through the establishment of reasonable rules and regulations governing behavior and fair practices dealing with disciplinary infractions.Attend and assign administrative presence at all high school activities.Review graduation rates annually to identify specific strategies to motivate students. Location Roslyn High School Compensation Per RASA Contract, Salary range from $194,750 - $214,750 (commensurate with experience)
