REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience in raising academic achievement for all studentsExtensive knowledge of curriculum and instructionExcellent communication, human relations and leadership qualitiesAbility to articulate a clear vision and work collaboratively with staff, parents, community to accomplish collective goalsExtensive knowledge of intermediate school (3-5) instructional practices and knowledge of current NYS Next Generation standards and assessmentsPrevious experience in a K-5 leadership position preferredAppropriate NYS certification –SAS, SDA, SBL RESPONSIBILITIES:Administers the overall school programSupervises and evaluates all teaching and support staff within the schoolMakes use of a variety of structures and strategies to provide instructional leadership for the schoolOrganizes and interprets student data, designs and conducts professional development sessionsConducts walk-throughs, facilitates professional learning communitiesAssigns and schedules teachers and students in conjunction with the support staffMaintains positive and respectful relationships with parents, parent groups, school volunteers and outside agenciesParticipates in district-wide activities, in-service workshops, and committees, as appropriateProvides for a positive, high-expectations/high-support academic environment for students and staffPrepares the school budget and works with Assistant SuperintendentWorks with respective department directors to select educational materials to meet the needs of students and teachersWorks with Central Office Staff to coordinate processes for the effective functioning of the schoolMaintains student discipline, order and uniformity of organizationEnsures the implementation of all rules and regulations of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools or his representativeMaintains all records and reports as requiredPerforms all duties prescribed by law, e.g., fire and other safety regulationsReads, analyzes and interprets general professional journals, financial reports and governmental regulationsWrites reports, business correspondence and procedure manualsPresents information to community groups, employees of the District and the general publicDefines problems, collects data, established facts and draws valid conclusionsPerforms such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent or his designeeOther duties as assigned Please submit your OLAS online application, cover letter, résumé, copy of certification(s), unofficial transcripts and a list of professional references to the attention of;Ms. Susann Crossan, Assistant Superintendent, Rocky Point UFSD by May 4, 2025.Please-No email inquiries; OLAS only.
