Rockland BOCES has a vacancy in our Instructional Services department.POSITION: Assistant Director of Instructional Services (1.0 FTE)QUALIFICATIONS: NYS SAS or SDL certification or Such alternatives to the above which the board may find appropriate and acceptable.RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in the development and implementation of shared programs and services in the areas of direct instructional services, Universal PreKindergarten and staff development for component districts. Disaggregate test and screener results from state and local exams, assessments and student screeners to assist in the development of curriculum and the training of staff to improve those results.Conduct workshops relevant to best instructional practices in literacy, early learning, SEL, the CRSE Framework, community, access and opportunity, which will empower countywide staff to raise student achievement.Meet regularly with administrators and teachers to establish future goals and identify specific training needs for districts and Community Based Organizations (CBOs).Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of programs for instructional and noninstructional school district staff including teaching assistants, teacher aides, UPK staff and other paraprofessionals.Assist in locating and obtaining Federal or other funds available to finance projects which support the objectives of component districts and BOCES.Become versed in NYSED initiatives and priorities so they may be rolled out effectively to BOCES and Component School Districts. Any additional related duties as assigned by the District Superintendent Chief Operating Officer, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents, Directors, or their designees.
