Rockland BOCES has a vacancy in our Adult Education – Licensed Practical Nursing program. POSITION: Student Support SpecialistResponsibilities:Provide student support to assist adults to enroll and succeed in adult Licensed Practical Nursing program.Represent Rockland BOCES during recruitment activities, including high school visits, job and college fairs, and community presentations. Develop relationships with guidance counselors and community service organizations to promote Rockland BOCES’s Adult programming. Interview and assess prospective students for admission into Licensed Practical Nursing program.Advise students in and expedite financial aid and work collaboratively with colleagues and instructors to facilitate admissions and ensure a smooth transition from applicant to student. Maintain student records.Provide customer service excellence through prompt, courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.Perform other duties as required to meet organizational needs and goals. QUALIFICATIONS: NYSED Certification in School Counseling, Social Work, Adult Education or related field required. Experience in the Workforce Development field is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings.
