Rockland BOCES has a vacancy in our Student Services program at Lumina School@Viola.POSITION: Library Media Specialist (0.5 FTE). Experience working with students with learning and emotional disabilities preferred. Job duties:Plans instruction and develops the library media program in conjunction with the school’s curricula. Develops and maintains a library curriculum map.Collaborates with staff to enhance student learning and engagement.Develops a culture of reading and promotes reading as a foundational skill for learning, personal growth, and enjoyment.Plans and provides instruction that addresses multiple literacies, including information literacy, media literacy, and technology literacy.Teaches and models developmentally appropriate best practices for learning and research.Provides a well-managed, safe, and welcoming environmentSupports curriculum through selection and management of resources that meet the needs and interests of students/staff. CERTIFICATION: NYS Library Media Specialist certification required. Bilingual and/or Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
