Rockland BOCES has a vacancy in our Adult Education program. POSITION: Adult Education Instructor - Student Support Specialist DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide student support to assist adults to enroll and succeed in Rockland BOCES adult Career Training Classes.Represent Rockland BOCES during recruitment activities, including high school visits, job and college fairs, and community presentations. Develop relationships with guidance counselors and community service organizations to promote Rockland BOCES’s Adult programming. Interview and assess prospective students for admission into Career Training Programs.Advise students in financial aide and work collaboratively with colleagues and instructors to facilitate admissions and ensure a smooth transition from applicant to student. Maintain student records.Provide customer service excellence through prompt, courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.Perform other duties as required to meet organizational needs and goals. QUALIFICATIONS: NYSED Certification in School Counseling, Social Work, Adult Education or related field required. Experience in the Workforce Development field is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility to work evenings. SALARY: $27-$35 per hour WORK YEAR: 12 months
