Rockland BOCES has an immediate opening in our Adult Education Department. POSITION: Adult Education Instructor –Employment SpecialistResponsibilities:Provides Career and Job Placement Services to actively assist Rockland BOCES adult students and graduates to find full and part-time employment.Provides counseling and instruction regarding career opportunities, resume preparation, employability skills development, interviewing tips, as well as information on conducting effective job searches. Provides guidance and assistance to individuals seeking employment, matching job seekers with available opportunities based on education, expertise, and skills.Collaborates with career training team, administration, advisors, and advisory boards to promote strongalignment of curricula with community employment needs.Organizes and coordinates job fairs.Engages community businesses regarding their immediate and long-term employment needs.Establishes and maintains internship and job placement opportunities.Documents all program activity, tracks student placement in jobs and internships, analyzes data, preparesreports and presents findings at team meetings.Develops and coordinates student workshops on resume writing, interviewing skills, careers and other related topics. Maintains job board.Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field such as School Counseling, School Psychology, Education or Social Work preferred. NYSED certification in area listed or Adult Education Certification required. Experience in the Workforce Development field is a plus.WORK YEAR: 12 months
