POSTING Director of Secondary Education & Data Management July 22, 2026 Start Date: September 1, 2026, or as soon as practical Salary: $165,823.00 Terms of Employment: Probationary Appointment 12-month position Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction and the Superintendent of Schools Job Summary The Director of Secondary Education & Data Management is a district-level position that reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction and the Superintendent of Schools. The Director of Secondary Education shall have general responsibility for all aspects of the development, implementation, and updating of secondary education curriculum. The successful candidate will supervise all secondary educational programs and services and work closely with building administrators and department coordinators to implement district programs. Key Responsibilities Lead curriculum and instructional initiatives for grades 6-12. Provide leadership for curriculum development initiatives, including curriculum review, approval, and implementation processes. Oversee district data systems, reporting, accountability, and analytics. Manage academic performance monitoring and improvement planning. Manage and interpret data systems to align school performance metrics with state standards and research-backed best practices. Coordinate instructional technology initiatives and data governance. Support secondary principals and department coordinators. Develop and oversee the secondary master schedule to support course access, staffing, student pathways, and program alignment. Manage academic performance monitoring, MTSS implementation, and improvement planning. Riverhead High School • Riverhead Middle School • Pulaski Street Elementary School • Aquebogue Elementary School Phillips Avenue Elementary School • Riley Avenue Elementary School • Roanoke Avenue Elementary School Qualifications New York State Education Department Certification (SDA or SDL) Minimum of five years of administrative experience; central office-level experience preferred Ability to effectively manage time and fiscal resources Excellent verbal and written communication skills Extensive knowledge of secondary programs Demonstrated use of data and research focused on improving student achievement Knowledge of and effective use of technology in instruction, management, and communication Strong, collaborative leadership with an honest, transparent, and inclusive style that supports high student outcomes and educational excellence Knowledge of the implementation and supervision of the APPR process Knowledge and understanding of building master schedules Knowledge of grants and grant writing
