Red Hook High School is seeking an outstanding Biology Teacher for a leave replacement position beginning May 26th and concluding June 30, 2026. We are looking for an educator who believes deeply in student-centered instruction, inquiry-based learning, and fostering curiosity about the living world. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically, analyze scientific data, and make meaningful connections between biology and real-world challenges. Responsibilities: Teach high school biology and environmental science courses aligned with NYS Learning Standards Design engaging, lab-based, and inquiry-driven instruction Use data to inform instruction and support diverse learners Create a classroom culture that values collaboration, critical thinking, and scientific discourse Participate actively in professional learning communities and school initiatives Qualifications: Valid NYS certification in Biology (7–12) Strong commitment to student-centered practices Experience with differentiated instruction and authentic assessment Passion for fostering scientific literacy and curiosity Red Hook High School is committed to building a dynamic learning environment where students are empowered to grow academically and personally.
