QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma;Possess a valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License Class B with Passenger and “S” Endorsement, with no major violations in the past three years;Previous experience as a school bus driver desirable;Knowledge of NYS Education Department of Motor Vehicle rules and regulations pertaining to school transportation;Willing and able to work with transportation routing software;Able to manage transportation department;Ability to manage multiple priorities and set a personal schedule;Ability to positively interact with parents, students, administrators, and contractors;Meet any other requirements set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the New York Commissioner of Education for this position;Placement on Rensselaer City Civil Service competitive list for Transportation Supervisor;Able to qualify as an Article 19A Certified Examiner;Able to qualify as a School Bus Driver Instructor.
