RCS is looking for a dynamic long-term substitute (through June 2024) to fill a full-time Building Substitute position. RCS is looking for someone who is flexible, passionate about teaching and learning, creative and engaging in the classroom, and dedicated to helping all students succeed. Candidates should be innovative in practice, have a strong value in school community, and have vision in preparing our students to be civic-minded. Successful candidates should be able to teach courses in ELA, math, science and social studies, utilizing the district as well as NYS curriculum Frameworks. Administer reading & math assessments according to district guidelines and other classroom responsibilities as per district expectations. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment during class sessions. Provide both academic and behavioral support using a multi-tiered approach (ie. RtI, PBIS). Communicate with families, other school staff, and school administration, and students on student progress. Create pathways for students to be career and community aware; promoting a strong sense of civic responsibility.QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Childhood Education 1-6 required. Dual certification in Literacy and/or Students with Disabilities preferred.
