JOB DESCRIPTION: (Partial)Receives visitors, answers telephone calls, and provides requested information or makes appropriate referrals to staff members.Operates a personal computer and utilizes software to produce acceptable documents including memorandums, letters, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and reviews information for accuracy.Operates various pieces of office and business machines including telephones and copier.Performs clerical work including opening and distribution of mail, filing, copying, etc. as well as maintains records and files pertinent to the operation of a school building.Fills in for other clerical members during absences, lunch breaks and in the event of illness, etc.May assist in monitoring pupils in study halls, In-School Suspension Room and other building areas.May work with small groups of students under the supervision of a teacher.May assist staff with student management in the school cafeteria.May assist in the school library, with daily bus duties and other areas as needed.Works cooperatively with Cook Manager on lunch program duties including the Free & Reduced Lunch applications and records, purchase orders, etc.Collects daily student attendance, making necessary calls, preparing reports, monitoring the attendance letter process, etc.May prepare report cards, certificates, awards, various types of correspondence and schedule parent/teacher conferences.Attends training as directed to gain knowledge and improve performance.Collects and distributes homework for absent students.Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the administration.QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from high school and two (2) years of clerical experience.Knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment.Ability to operate a personal computer and utilize computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, nVision/Finance Manager, etc.Experience working with school lunch software (Nutrikids) and the Free & Reduced Lunch application and review process.Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.Ability to communicate by telephone and face-to-face conversation.Ability to write legibly and accurately, possess clerical aptitude, show tact, courtesy, and good judgement, and have an acceptable attendance record.Ability to always maintain confidentiality.In addition to applying on OLASApply to: Danielle DeBiase, School Business Administrator Red Creek Central School District 6624 South Street, PO Box 190 Red Creek, New York 13143
