Starting Immediately - Questar III BOCES has a vacancy for a full-time Internal Audit Manager (Civil Service Title: Audit Manager) position within our Internal Audit service based out of our Central Office in Castleton, NY. This position will work with various school districts throughout NYS performing all functions associated with the Questar III internal audit service. Typical duties include the following: Develop annual internal audit plans for school districts and BOCES statewideDevelop the internal audit schedules and staffing of personnel for school districts and BOCES statewide;Actively participates in the staffing process; review and approval of staff expense reports; and conducts performance evaluationsParticipates in the development and training for audit personnel;Ensures progress is maintained by the internal auditors in the execution of the audit fieldwork and provides guidance and counseling to ensure approved internal audit objectives are met;Reviews completed work programs and workpapers and provides support to internal audit staff with internal audit issues;Provides auditee with status reports on progress on the internal audit and acts as chief spokesperson;Conduct entrance and exit conference explaining expectations and results of internal audits;Ensures timely completion of the internal audit and prepares reports on results of; and performs quality review for other internal audit reports prepared for school districts and BOCES statewide.Daily travel (with the occasional overnight) to and from school districts within New York state anticipated. Minimum Qualifications for Audit Manager (as outlined by Columbia County Civil Service): Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and either; A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and two years of professional accounting or auditing experience, and Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).ORB) Graduation from a regionally accredited NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration or related field with a minimum of 24 semester credit hours in accounting or auditing and two years of professional accounting or auditing experience, and certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)ORC) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of a and b above and a certification as a Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
