Questar IIII BOCES has a full time 12-month Health Benefits Analyst position available at our Central Office in Castleton NY. This is an entry level position with the GASB 75 team. The Health Benefits Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and maintaining post-employment benefit (OPEB) census information as submitted by district clients, as well as creating full valuation and disclosure reports for approximately 200 districts. Direct contact and interaction with clients and the GASB 75 team is an integral part of this position. The position is responsible for evaluating the accuracy and integrity of information generated for financial reporting. The position also requires performing other related duties as assigned. Job Skills and Requirements:· Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe· Ability to remember and focus on minor details of a task or project· Effectively communicate and work collaboratively with team members· Capable of using judgement, rationalizing, and interpreting information Job Responsibilities:· Analyzing census data, reviewing contracts, and submitting questions to clients· Assessing client responses for reasonableness and accuracy· Maintaining an interactive workflow, good communication, and flexibility· Prioritizing and switching tasks to meet multiple clients’ needs Minimum Qualifications:A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master's degree in Public Administration, Accounting, or Business Administration; OR,B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Accounting, or Business Administration and two years of work experience in a position that has its main focus responsibility for organizing and preparing and applying a municipal, agency, or corporate budget; OR,C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree Public Administration, Accounting, or Business Administration and four years’ experience as described in (B) above; ORD) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limit of (A), (B), and(C) above.
