Questar III BOCES announces an immediate vacancy for a full-time Budget Analyst position based out of our Central Office in Castleton, NY. The Budget Analyst position is responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and making recommendations regarding the Governmental Accounting Standard No. 75 (GASB 75) valuation process for school districts and BOCES. Provide technical help and advice on how to collect the demographic data needed for the GASB 75 valuation and assist in selecting an appropriate data extraction date. Perform analytical procedures on the GASB 75 data to detect potential data anomalies and to determine if the extract is complete. Applicants must meet the residency requirements and minimum qualifications set by the Columbia County Civil Service Commission and are subject to a competitive Civil Service exam:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (as outlined by Columbia County Civil Service):Graduation form a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Accounting or Business Administration; ORGraduation form a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Accounting or Business Administration, AND two years or work experience in a position that has as its main focus responsibility for organizing and preparing and applying municipal, agency, or corporate budget; ORGraduation form a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Accounting or Business Administration, AND four years or work experience in a position that has as its main focus responsibility for organizing and preparing and applying municipal, agency, or corporate budget; ORAn equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limit of (A), (B), and (C) above.Interested candidates should apply via OLAS or email your resume with cover letter to employment@questar.org.
