Tech Valley High School is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Technology Teacher. The successful candidate will work with available technologies (Fusion 360, Python, Java, Fabrication Lab) to engage students in learning as an independent and collaborative teacher in the classroom and technology lab. At TVHS, we are committed to innovative educational experiences, including technology advancements, and are seeking a teacher who will work with students and teachers to connect their use of technology with current innovations in STEM-related fields.Candidates for the position should be passionate and motivated to support students and teachers, able to foster learning in a high school focusing on 21stcentury learning, willing to collaborate with colleagues and participate in a professional culture dedicated to serving as a model for the region.About Tech Valley HSTech Valley High School is a STEM-focused four-year regional public high school that is built on the principles of project-based learning and collaboration. Students engage in hands-on projects based on authentic applications of New York State learning standards. In addition to learning content in each of their classes, students work towards improvement and are assessed on our school-wide learning outcomes: Collaboration, Communication, Agency and Self-Direction, and Technology and Information Literacy. We serve approximately 140 students in grades 9-12.Tech Valley High School is a partnership between Questar III and Capital Region BOCES and is located on the campus of the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany, NY.The mission of Tech Valley High School is to provide a unique, innovative and student-centered educational opportunity, engage students in current and emerging technologies and support the growth and economy of the region.In accordance with the TVHS contract, teachers work 15 summer days in addition to the school year. The summer work time is designed to provide time for professional learning and project development.
