Beginning 9/1/23 - Questar III BOCES is seeking a full time instructor for our new Welding – CTE programthat will be located on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.The Welding program is a two-year program for high school students and the positions will instruct and supervise students based on the American Welding Society (AWS) curriculum, which provides broad exposure to the operation, standards, and current practices in the field of welding and metal fabrication. Students learn and have hands-on practice with a variety of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and stick. Students work with metal preparation, torch and plasma cutting, reading schematics, and using different welding tools.Successful candidates will actively engage and prepare students to succeed in the profession of Metal Fabrication. Candidates must possess, or be willing to pursue, a NYS teaching certification in Precision Metal Work Operations. Applicable work experience will qualify an applicant to pursue NYS certification through the non-traditional Transitional A teacher pathway (advanced degrees are not required). Applicants with experience in Welding and/or Metal Fabrication are encouraged to apply.
