Questar III BOCES has a full-time vacancy for a Communications Technician (Civil Service Title: Public Information Technician) based out of our central office in Castleton. Questar III’s Communications Service helps school districts and the BOCES communicate with the public. This is an entry level position working closely with school district(s) and BOCES personnel to implement strategic communication plans and campaigns. Applicants must have the ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communications and meet the minimum qualifications as outlined by the Columbia County Civil Service Commission listed below. Preferred applicants will have experience providing communication support to public agencies and/or school districts.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a bachelor's degree in media technology, journalism, communications, public affairs, public relations, marketing, English or closely related field; OR(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two year college or university with an associate's degree in media technology, journalism, communications, public affairs, public relations, marketing, English or closely related field and two years of experience in public relations, advertising, communication relations, publicity, public information or journalism; ORTo apply, please apply on OLAS and send your resume with cover letter to employment@questar.org.
