Assistant Academy Principal & Career Exploration and Work-Based Learning Ambassador - full-time position available August 1, 2022. Responsibilities of the position include:The Assistant Principal’s primary responsibility is for assisting the Principal in the general supervision, administration and coordination of the instructional program, its related support programs, services and activities. These duties will encompass approximately 80% of the Assistant Principal’s time.The assistant Principal’s secondary responsibility is leading the development of the Career Exploration and Work-Based Learning Program at Penn Yan Academy. The vision for the Career Exploration and Work-Based Learning program is to develop a differentiated, interest-based, system of career exploration for any, and all, Penn Yan Academy students. These duties will encompass approximately 20% of the Assistant Principal’s time.Individuals must meet the following requirements:Successful experience as a classroom teacher. Knowledge of current educational trends and with research relevant to student achievement and leadership development. Knowledge of Work-Based Learning, Career Exploration, and CDOS best practicesStrong interpersonal and supervisory skills with the ability to work with diverse groups to articulate a vision and develop consensus.Holds or is eligible for certification as a School Building Level or School District Administrator A Master’s Degree. The following is preferred, but not required:1.CTE Teaching Certification.2. Knowledge of local workplaces, career exploration sites, and community partnerships to facilitate future student opportunities.3. Knowledge of NYS registered work-based learning programs.Salary range: $65,000-$75,000, commensurate with experience.
