Rosser, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:SCHOOL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR(POUGHKEEPSIE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT)APPLICATION:In addition to applying on OLAS, candidates must complete an online application available on www.poughkeepsieschools.org through the Human Resources tab.QUALIFICATIONS:Candidate must be a NYS certified school business administrator with either a School Business Administrator (SBA) or School District Business Leader (SDBL) preferably with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in school business OR must have the necessary qualifications to meet the civil service requirements for Assistant Business Manager and be qualified to sit for the exam;Knowledge and experience with a NYS public school business operations preferredMust have strong technical ability and excellent communication skills, both oral and writtenDUTIES:The School Business Administrator reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Business at thePoughkeepsie City School District. The School Business Administrator is responsible for the business and financial affairs of the school district. These activities shall include, but not be limitedto, financing and budgeting activities, financial accounting and reporting, purchasing and inventorycontrol, management of capital projects, debt service management, insurance, transportation, fiscalreporting to federal and state agencies as well as the Board of Education, and other duties as maybe assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Business.RESPONSIBILITIES:Budgeting and Financial Planning:Assists with the preparation and administration of the annual operating, capital and school lunch budgets in collaboration with district and building-level leadership;Assists with maintaining budget control and monitoring of budget;Accounting and Reporting:Administers all aspects of the accounting program for all district and extra classroom funds;Preparation of financial and budget reports for the Assistant Superintendent, District Superintendent, Board of Education and District Leadership;Administers internal audits and maintains complete records for official audits;Oversee the management of state aid and all required NYSED filings;Completes and submits all required federal, state, local, and BOCES financial surverys including ST-3.Facilities and Transportation:Works with Director of Facilities and Assistant Superintendent for Business to assist in coordinating all capital project planning and reporting;Assists the Assistant Superintendent on issues and matters of student transportation including development and maintenance of all transportation contracts.Debt Service Management and Insurance:Supervises investment and borrowing responsibilities with the District Treasurer;Supervises the implementation of the district’s insurance programsOther Duties:Supervision of business office staff as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for BusinessAPPOINTMENT:Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of theSuperintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials andevaluation of service.
