Seeking a responsible individual for the overall maintenance and condition of the buses within the school district in the role of Transportation Supervisor. The incumbent will be directly responsible for the district’s transportation. The Transportation Supervisor will report directly to the school Business Official, and in the absence of this role, will report to the Superintendent or other superior in accordance with established policies and procedures.In addition, the incumbent will oversee and coordinate compliance with the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law to ensure that School Bus Drivers and monitors are hired, supervised, trained and periodically examined in accordance with the Law. The incumbent will supervise the work of the mechanic and supporting transportation department roles such as dispatcher or office staff member. The Transportation Supervisor will complete related work as required. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or possession of High School Equivalency Diploma AND (a) Associates degree with four years of experience in the transportation field, (b) Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of experience in the transportation field, (c) 6 years of experience in transportation field or an equivalent combination of training and experience as described in (a), (b), and (c) above.Must possess a valid NYS CDL B license with P&S endorsement, be certified as a 19-A examiner, SBDI Trainer and be fingerprinted.
