The Poland Central School District is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and dedicated educator to fill an anticipated opening for an elementary school counselor. The successful candidate must have NYS certification in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.Essential Skills Include:Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social-emotional challenges;Offer guidance on developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution;Collaborate with teachers and staff to create and implement interventions for students in need of additional support;Conduct assessments and provide referrals for additional services as needed;Utilize the district's curriculum solution to equip all students with skills for academic achievement, well-being and essential skills like resilience and problem solving;Work closely with parents to ensure a strong home-school connection and offer support as needed;Exhibit excellent work ethic and organizational skills;Show alignment to the District's mission and vision.Experience working with young children (grades UPK-5) in a school setting is preferred.In addition to the online application, please submit a letter of intent, resume, copy of certification, and college transcript.
