Position: Assistant Principal (Two positions available)Salary: $120,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience Certifications: NYS School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA) or School Building Leader (SBL) certificateEffective Date: 2023 – 2024 School YearLocation(s): Building assignments: Port Jefferson Middle School/Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. Edna Louise Spear Elementary School.Building assignment determined annually. Responsibilities &Qualifications: The Assistant Principal is directly responsible to the building principal. The successful candidate should possess those personal and professional leadership qualities essential to the operation of a Pre K-12 instructional program, including the following: Ability to assist each principal with the efficient running of the building Knowledge of effective student management strategies and DASA regulations A broad academic background with the ability to articulate elementary and secondary level academic vision Effective communication skills with the ability to relate well to children, staff and community A knowledge and understanding of the New York State standards, including skill in the areas of staff development and program evaluation A commitment to the value of long-range planning and the achievement of school and district goals Knowledge and understanding of new APPR regulations Ability to effectively create various schedules including assisting with the development of the master schedule in each building Supervise and coordinate the Science Research Program (MS/HS location) Supervise and coordinate the Summer School Extended Year Program (ES location)Thank you for your interest in Port Jefferson UFSD.
