A Middle School Girls Soccer Head Coach position is anticipated for the Fall 2024-25 school year. Salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement with the Port Jefferson Teachers’ Association, contingent upon student enrollment. Qualifications: All applicants must have a valid NYS Teaching or Coaching License, CPR/AED, First Aid and Concussion certificates. Coaching experience required at the Varsity level.Responsibilities: Organize and be present at practice 5-6 days per week for approximately 2 hours per day. Ensure that all aspects of the program comply with the guidelines, rules and policies that have been established by the School District, League, Section, State and National Federation. Develop and communicate criteria for selection to appropriate teams. Formulate and submit team rosters and practice schedules to the Director of Athletics. Develop practice plans and game plans throughout the season designed to maximize and improve student performance in the sport. Maintain discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program. Complete and submit all documents and reports in a timely manner. Display and encourage sportsmanship. Represent the PJ District and the Program in a positive manner, and serves as a role model for students. Evaluate coach, team and individual performance to help with personal and team growth. Adjust practice and game plans to the strengths and skills of the team.
