Title: Director of Facilities III – 12 months Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Location: Districtwide Qualifications/Certification: The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications as per New York State Civil Service: • Earned an Bachelor’s degree or higher in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, and three years of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or building repair, including one year in a supervisory role; or • Earned an Associate’s degree or higher in School Facilities Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Building Construction Technology, or Architectural Technology, and five years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair, or construction management, including one year in a supervisory role; or • Seven years of experience in school facilities maintenance, general building construction, building maintenance or repair, or construction management, including one year in a supervisory role. • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. • Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license and any required certifications appropriate to the vehicles, equipment, and/or machinery operated at the time of appointment or during employment, consistent with District needs. • Can be a transfer with Title or have taken the New York State Civil Service Exam. Position Summary: The Director of Facilities III is responsible for providing administrative direction to the School District's facilities department. The work is performed according to established policies and procedures and in accordance with applicable State, local and federal laws, rules and regulations which apply to school District facility operations and maintenance. The majority of activities are performed in the office, but the incumbent will spend time at various work sites ensuring that work is being performed and completed in an efficient manner.
