This building-level role provides strategic leadership to ensure the smooth, safe, and effective daily operation of the school while supporting instructional excellence and a positive school climate. The Assistant Principal must be a highly organized and systems-oriented thinker who can manage key operational responsibilities, including state testing, student management systems, scheduling, substitute coordination, progress reporting, and regulatory compliance, while also serving as a visible and supportive presence for students, staff, and families.The successful candidate will demonstrate instructional leadership through classroom observations, staff evaluation, and professional development, while supporting student discipline, attendance, school safety, and Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) and 504 compliance. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential to effectively partner with faculty, families, District personnel, and community members to foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports students’ academic and social-emotional growth.Qualifications: - A valid administrative certificate from New York State, such as School Building Leader (SBL)- A master’s or higher degree in educational leadership, school administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.- At least five years of full time middle school teaching experience preferred.- Engaged in ongoing professional growth and reflective leadership practices.- Experience with managing daily school operations, assisting with scheduling, coordinating programs, monitoring compliance with local/state regulations and supporting disciplinary procedures.- Knowledge of state testing requirements, 504 regulations, and Dignity for All Students Act procedures.- Experience supporting and evaluating instructional practices that contribute to continuous school improvement.- Experience managing multiple systems simultaneously that relate to the daily operation of a school building.- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills necessary for managing school operations.- Experience in fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment that supports students’ academic and social-emotional development.Deadline to apply: Wednesday, March 4, 2026
